Anze Kopitar is a Slovene professional ice hockey centre and captain for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. Noted for both his offensive and defensive play, Kopitar was awarded the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the best defensive forward in the NHL in 2016.

Kopitar was named to play in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey for Team Europe, which includes players from most of Europe (the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden have their teams).

Did Anže Kopitar retire?
There is no information on whether or not Anze Kopitar has retired or not. Perhaps he wants to retire from the NHL but he is yet to make a statement on this.
However, Kopitar is renowned in Slovenia due to his hockey exploits, with a government-sponsored website declaring that after he won the Stanley Cup in 2012 he was the most recognised Slovenia sportsman.
