Mickelson has now failed to cut each of his major titles. Mickelson has struggled in recent years, notably since his second-place performance in the 2013 U.S. Open, the only one of the four majors he has failed to win in his career.

Kevin Chappell (9-over), Billy Horschel (6-over), Louis Oosthuizen (6-over), Tony Finau (5-over), and Kevin Na were among the famous golfers that missed the cut in Brookline (5-over).

Cameron Smith was the most unexpected golfer to miss the cut. He was a popular selection to win his first major this week, but a 4-over second round dropped him to 6-over overall.
