Acuña represented Argentina in the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Marcos Acuña plays as a left-back for La Liga club Sevilla and the Argentina national team.

On 15 November 2016, Marcos Acuña made his international debut with the Argentina national team in a World Cup Qualifier 2018 match against Colombia.
