He died in a car crash on Sunday, January 15, 2023, in Athens, Georgia, United States.

According to a police report, the incident happened at 2:45 a.m. Devin Willock and staff member Chandler LeCroy died in the accident, the school announced in a statement. Two other unnamed members of the team who were also involved in the accident are in stable condition.

Willock died at the scene while the 24-year-old LeCroy later passed away at a local hospital.

A native of Milford, New Jersey, he appeared in 15 games for Georgia and made two starts. Willock was a redshirt sophomore.

Coach Kirby Smart postulated in a statement released by the school, “We are all heartbroken and devastated with the loss of Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy.

“Willock was an outstanding young man in every way. He was always smiling, was a great teammate, and was a joy to coach.

In 2021, he saw his first collegiate action as a reserve OT in Georgia’s win over UAB and also played vs. South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Charleston Southern, Georgia Tech, Michigan, and Alabama.
