He was so relaxed that he failed all but two GCSEs, and following that he re-took his school-leaving qualifications, which allowed him to later start his A-Level courses at Colchester Sixth Form College. He played American football for the Colchester Gladiators and the Ipswich Cardinals.
Dermot attended Middlesex University, where he was awarded a degree in Media Studies and Studies with Politics.
He is currently married to Dee Koppang and has a son called Kasper O’Leary.
