This plea comes in the wake of Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson’s recent appeal to broadcast the remaining proceedings, citing public interest following allegations of misconduct against Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame.
In a statement, Deputy AG Tuah-Yeboah voiced his endorsement for the live broadcast request, acknowledging the significance of transparency in matters of substantial public concern.
“While the AG had previously mentioned that proceedings of public interest should be broadcast live on television and radio, we have no objections to the request. However, it’s essential to note that the Chief Justice holds the ultimate authority in this matter,” citinewsroom.com quoted Tuah-Yeboah as saying.

Nevertheless, Tuah-Yeboah emphasized the importance of complementing the live broadcast with day-to-day hearings to expedite the trial process.
“We are not only advocating for the live broadcast but also proposing day-to-day hearings to swiftly conclude this matter.
“If possible, the live broadcast should coincide with daily hearings to ensure a prompt resolution,” he added.
The call for daily hearings aims to facilitate a timely conclusion to the trial, which has garnered significant public attention.
Ultimately, the decision on whether to approve the live broadcast and the proposed daily hearing schedule lies with the Chief Justice.
