Dennis Waterman Died Of Cancer? What Type Of Cancer Was Dennis Waterman Diagnosed Of?

Dennis Waterman is said to have died of cancer but the exact type of cancer remains undisclosed.

In 2006, his wife Pam Flint was diagnosed with cancer of the bladder.

She had surgery to remove her cancerous bladder. The plan had been to replace it with a new bladder constructed from part of her intestine.

But although the cancer had gone, Pam woke from the anaesthetic to discover that instead of a bladder, she had an irreversible stoma.

This is an artificial opening in the abdomen. The surgeon created a tube from part of the intestine and this protrudes from the abdomen wall.

Urine is excreted through it into a bag that has to be changed every day and emptied every couple of hours. At first Pam was so relieved to be alive, she didn’t really notice the change.

Boxing was a big part of Waterman’s childhood. His father had been an amateur boxer and made all of his sons box.

His older brother Ken first took Dennis boxing when he was three years old, and when he was ten Dennis joined Caius Boxing Club. Another older brother, Peter, was a welterweight boxing champion.

Waterman was educated at the Granard Primary School, a state primary school on the Ashburton Estate in Putney, South-West London, followed by Corona Stage School, an independent school at Ravenscourt Park in Hammersmith in West London.
