Denis Kudla’s Father, Vladimir Kudla is a Ukrainian.

He had relocated his entire family to Virginia, USA, following the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Kudla’s parents could not speak the English language when they arrived the United States. However, they were able to learn and speak English in a few years.

Kudla’s mother’s name is not mentioned in the media. But she has been a supportive mother, who would take permission at work to pick up Kudla from his elementary school to go to the Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC).

Kudla’s mother would wait for him during his 2-hour practice, and drive him home while he slept. Once he wakes up at home, she feeds him dinner and assists him with his homework.

“My parents were strict, but not crazy strict. I was never spoiled. I wanted tennis. It was always my dream”, Kudla once said.
