DeAndre Hopkins, a wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, has been hit with a six-match ban for violating the National Football League’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

The suspension imposed on DeAndre Hopkins was announced on Monday, May 2, 2022, and it was also revealed the suspension will be effective during the beginning of the next regular season in September 2022, hence, DeAndre is eligible to play during the preseason.
DeAndre Hopkins tested positive for a prohibited substance and it was also found that he attempted to dilute the prohibited substance to manipulate the test results.

Although DeAndre Hopkins initially appealed on the issue, it is reported that he removed the appeal for the decision to be made.
DeAndre Hopkins has played for the Arizona Cardinals since 2020 and prior to joining the Cardinals, DeAndre Hopkins played for the Houston Texans from 2013 to 2019.
DeAndre Hopkins is a five-time Pro Bowl champion, a three-time First-team All-Pro member, and a one-time NFL receiving touchdowns leader.
