ABC News executive producer Dax Tejera passed away on December 23, 2022, after suffering a heart attack. He was aged 37.

“As EP of ‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ Dax’s energy, passion and love for that show, ABC News, and you, shined every Sunday morning. That same love was extended to his precious girls,” ABC News president Kim Godwin wrote in a statement.
Tejera is regarded as “one of the kindest and brightest lights,” a man who “would move heaven and earth” to tell a good story, and someone who was “sharp, thoughtful, unflappable, and fun.”
“Such a heartbreaking day for all of us at @abcnews Dax Tejera was not only the brightest – most compassionate – executive producer I’ve ever worked with, he was also a dear friend,” wrote John Quiñones.

Who Was Dax Tejera?
Dax Tejera was the Executive Producer of the program This Week, which is aired on ABC.
Tejera joined ABC in 2017 as a senior producer and was promoted to the position of executive producer in 2020.
He had previously been executive producer at MSNBC, for the program Fusion.
Tejera who was supposed to turn 38 next month, was a two-time Emmy Award nominee.
Tejera leaves behind his wife, Veronica, and two daughters – Ella and Sofia.
