David West was an American professional baseball pitcher who was a one-time World Series champion in the Major League Baseball. David West competed in the 1991 edition of the American League Championship Series.

David West started his baseball career at Craigmont High School in Memphis and he played in the 1983 amateur draft making him join the New York Mets as a fourth-round draft pick. David West was a very good pitcher.
David West played for the New York Mets from 1988 to 1989, Minnesota Twins from 1989 to 1992, Philadelphia Phillies from 1993 to 1996, Fukuoka Daiei Hawks in 1997 and the Boston Red Sox in 1998.
David West was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on September 1, 1964, at the age of 57 years, as a result of brain cancer.
