David Warner was an English actor who appeared in films, television shows, and plays.
Warner was born in Manchester, Lancashire, on July 29, 1941.

David studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.

Warner made his professional stage debut in January 1962 at the Royal Court Theatre, playing Snout, a minor role in Tony Richardson’s English Stage Company production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

In 1963, he made his film debut in Tom Jones as the villainous Blifil, and in 1965, he played Henry VI in the BBC television adaptation of the RSC’s The Wars of the Roses cycle of Shakespeare’s history plays.

Warner portrayed both romantic leads and villainous characters in a variety of media, including The Ballad of Cable Hogue, Straw Dogs, Cross of Iron, The Omen, Holocaust, The Thirty Nine Steps, and Time After Time.

He also appeared in the movies: Time Bandits, Tron, A Christmas Carol, Portrait in Evil, Titanic and Mary Poppins Returns.

For his portrayal of Pomponius Falco in the television miniseries Masada, he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Special in 1981.
