In 1983, Webster’s coaching prowess led the British team at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in Malta, further solidifying his status as a prominent figure in international sports. He also served as the Scottish National Weightlifting Coach for numerous years.

Beyond sports, Webster was a prolific author, his books capturing the rich history of sports figures and traditions. He was also a founding member of the National Amateur Bodybuilding Association (NABBA).
