David McCullough Cause of Death

David Gaub McCullough an American author, narrator, popular historian, and lecturer has died. He died on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at his home in Hingham, Mass. He was 89.

McCullough’s death was announced by his publisher, Simon & Schuster and confirmed by his daughter Dorie Lawson. However, a cause of death was not given.

McCullough is a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States’ highest civilian award.

McCullough won Pulitzer Prizes for two presidential biographies, “Truman” (1992) and “John Adams” (2001).

He received National Book Awards for “The Path Between the Seas: The Creation of the Panama Canal” (1977) and “Mornings on Horseback” (1981), about the young Theodore Roosevelt and his family.

McCullough was the host of the public television series “American Experience” from 1988 to 1999 and the narrator of some of its episodes. He was also the host of the television magazine “Smithsonian World.”

McCullough was awarded more than 40 honorary degrees, including one from the Eastern Nazarene College in John Adams’ hometown of Quincy, Massachusetts.

McCullough is survived by his five children.
