When news broke that David Fitzgerald, the BBC Radio Devon’s morning broadcast presenter had a heart issue and he has left the studio to get himself checked out, David’s wife Queenie took to social media to reveal the news.
She said: ‘He was told yesterday that he is being made redundant and then expected to go on air today as nothing had happened!’
Queenie Fitzgerald suggested that the news might have triggered his heart problem, she disclosed on Facebook.

Queenie claimed the management of BBC Radio Devon is cruel and she is angry at them.
Michael Chequer took over when David was sent out to the hospital to get checked.
Michael just said David is feeling a little under the weather. He is absolutely fine, we will keep you updated and let you know. He will be back with you ASAP.’
To the relief of fans, David took to Facebook to update them on his well-being.
He said: ‘Just a little heart issue this morning, on the radio… thank you Derriford.’
