David Bohrman Cause of Death

American television executive, David Bohrman has been reported dead. According to sources, he died on Sunday, June 25, 2023, after complications from hip surgery.

He was the creator of more news programming than almost any other producer working in television news today. Wherever he went, David was an innovator using the latest technology to enhance storytelling. He was a mentor to many,” CNN’s Leadership team wrote in a memo to employees after his death on Sunday evening.

Born on April 30, 1954, David Bohrman started his career at KNXT-TV in Los Angeles. He also worked at NBC News as an Executive Producer for Special Events and Breaking News from 1993 to 1997. He was responsible for all NBC News live coverage of all breaking news stories and major events.

However, he worked for ABC News for 13 years (from 1980 to 1993), before joining NBC.  At ABC, he served as an Executive Producer of World News Now & ABC News InterActive TM, Senior Producer of Nightline, Special Events, and World News Tonight, and a part of the original staff of Nightline, first as a field producer, and as Senior Producer. He was named the Youngest Senior Producer in Network News by People Magazine in 1982; he was just 28 years old.

In 1988, Bohrman created the first unit of media at any major media company: ABC News Interactive. Interactive laser discs were primarily education-oriented and sold to thousands of schools nationwide. From 1983 to 1988, he served as Senior Producer for Special Events, Breaking News, and Political Broadcast Unit at ABC News.

He also served as the CEO of Pseudo.com in 2000. It was the world’s first and largest interactive Internet Television Network, and he oversaw more than 250 and produced more than 50 live hours of Internet television per week.

As CNN’s Senior Vice President and Washington Bureau Chief, Bohrman was in charge of all programming, production, and newsgathering for CNN in Washington DC as well as overseeing CNN’s global Special Events division. He produced the 2008 Election Night in American program which had more views than any of the other broadcast and cable networks and the highest primetime ratings in CNN’s history.
