Dave Herman was an American professional football player who was married to his wife Roma. The couple had four children.

Dave Herman played offensive guard in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. Herman was drafted by the Jets out of Michigan State in 1963 and made his debut in 1964.
Herman, one of the game’s best linemen, was named to the All-AFL teams from 1967 to 1969 and was an AFL All-Star from 1968 to 1969.

Herman worked as an account executive for Blair Television Company after retiring from professional football.
He also worked in radio sports programming, announcing Jets games on WOR Radio Network with Marty Glickman from 1974 to 1978. He later worked as a financial advisor in New York City.
Dave Herman died on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the age of 81. Herman was diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy in 2014. He is survived by his wife, Roma, four children, four siblings and five grandchildren.
