Daryle Lamonica Obituary, How Did Daryle Lamonica Die?

Daryle Lamonica, a former deep-throwing quarterback who won an AFL Player of the Year award and led the Raiders to their first Super Bowl appearance died on April 21, 2022.

Lamonica was an All-Pro again in 1969 when he led the AFL with 3,302 yards passing and 34 touchdowns. The 34 TDs still stand as the franchise’s single-season record more than a half-century later.

According to sources, Daryle Lamonica died of natural causes. He was age 80 when he died, so naturally, it is not untimely for him to have died at that age.

His death was announced on Twitter.

Rest in peace Daryle Lamonica. Al Davis saw something great in him and traded with Buffalo to acquire him. The following season in 1967, Lamonica became AFL MVP & the Raiders were AFL Champs. Lamonica ended his playing days w the SoCal Sun of the WFL.
