Darryl Hunt Bio

Darryl Hunt was born on 4 May 1950, in Christchurch, Hampshire, England.

He had his education at Allhallows College in Lyme Regis, Devon. He went on to bag his first degree in fine art at the Nottingham Trent University.

As a student, he made his music debut with The Brothel Creepers, a student band which later became Plummet Airlines.

He started playing bass in the Pogues in 1986, and prior to that time, he had played in the pub rock band Plummet Airlines and the Favourites.

Hunt was the brain behind the album If I Should Fall from Grace with God.

MacGowan, Jem Finer, James Fearnley, Andrew Ranken, Terry Woods, Hunt, Stacy and other musical artists make up the Pogues.

He died on August 9, 2022, at age 72.
