Born on August 19, 1980, in Glasgow, Darius grew up as the eldest child of his two siblings.
He attended Bearsden Primary School, the Glasgow Academy, and later on, the University of Edinburgh, where he studied English Literature and Philosophy.
Darius came to fame when he appeared on Popstars in 2001.
After then, he went ahead to appear on the first series of Pop Idol the following year. He had qualified for the finals of the competition, which earned him a deal with producer Steve Lillywhite.
As an actor, he appeared in the musical version of Chicago, as the lead actor in the Olivier Award-winning Guys and Dolls, as well as the movie Gone with the Wind.
Darius passed away on August 11, 2022, after he was found dead in his apartment. He was aged 41.
