Dancer and choreographer, Darius Barnes passed away at age 34. The cause of his death has not been revealed yet as his family is yet to release a statement on it.

Darius’s death was announced on Twitter. He was a devoted dancer and attended Baltimore School for Arts before his acceptance to the School of American Ballet, where he received the Rudolf Nureyev & Estelle Dennis scholarships.

With time, Darius transitioned from the world of classical dance to theatre dance, appearing on Broadway in Mean Girls, Memphis and others.
Darius was the associate executive producer, associate creative director, choreographer, writer and editor of the inaugural Awards, which honours Black theatre makers and their contributions to the American theatre.
