He was born in East Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in Elyria. Later, he relocated to Detroit, Michigan, where he attended Martin Luther King High School (MLK).
Moore passed for 3,044 yards with 40 touchdowns against three interceptions during his junior season while MLK won the Division III state championship.

He led MLK to its second consecutive state championship as a senior, passing for 2,392 yards, 32 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He was chosen to compete in the 2023 All-American Bowl.
Dante Moore finished his high school career with 9,880 yards throwing and 135 touchdowns. Sports Illustrated named Moore the greatest recruit in his class.
In his senior year, he committed to play collegiate football at Oregon. Moore changed his mind about attending UCLA. He is the highest-rated quarterback ever to commit to the Bruins. Moore signed his National Letter of Intent to UCLA on December 21, 2022
