James Dansby Swanson is a free agent in Major League Baseball. He has played for the Atlanta Braves in Major League Baseball (MLB). In the 2015 MLB Draft, he was chosen first overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Swanson grew up in Kennesaw, Georgia, the son of two prominent Troy University college athletes.
Swanson made his 100th career home run on September 30, 2022, off New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom. Swanson was the only pitcher in MLB to start all 162 games. Swanson received his first Gold Glove Award at the season’s conclusion. After the season, he became a free agent.
