Tennis star Danka Kovinic was born in Montenegro, to her parents, Randeko Kovinic and Snjezana Kovinic.

Who Are Randeko Kovinic And Snjezana Kovinic?

Danka’s father is Randeko. He is a businessman who runs a cafe/bar in Montenegro.

Danka’s mother, Snjezana, works as a teacher.

The couple have three children – Aleska, Luka and Danka.

Not much information is available about her parents.

Who Is Danka Kovinic?

Danka Kovinić is a professional tennis player, born on November 18, 1994, in Cetinje, Republic of Montenegro.

She grew up in Montenegro, amongst her two brothers, Aleska and Luka.

Danka turned pro in 2010 and in 2013, she became the first Montenegrin to reach the quarterfinals of a WTA event, following her participation in the WTA Tour tournament at the Budapest Grand Prix for that year.

In 2016, she reached a career-high of world Number 46 in the singles ranking and world number 67 in the doubles rankings.

The right-handed player began her Australian tour in 2022, at the Melbourne Summer.

At the Australian Open, she beat Jang Su-jeong, in the first round, and reached the third round after beating US Open champion Emma Raducanu in three sets.

Danka is also the first player from Montenegro to reach the third round of a Grand Slam championship.

During the Indian Wells, Danka won against Jil Teichmann in the first round, and Karolína Plíšková in the second round.

Danka however, could not play at the Wimbledon against Sonay Kartal, because she suffered pains in her lower back.

Danka is being coached by Nemanja Plavsic.
