Daniel Lévi Obituary

Daniel Lévi was a singer-songwriter, composer, and pianist from France. Daniel died on August 6, 2022, from colon cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2019.

“Daniel Lévi’s, funeral was held on Sunday, August 7, at 2:30 p.m., at the St. Pierre Jewish cemetery – 166, Chemin de l’Armée d’Afrique 13010 Marseille.”

Daniel Lévi was born into a Jewish family in Constantine, French Algeria. He was raised in Lyon.

Cocktail, his first album, was composed and recorded in 1983.  He achieved enormous success with his hit single “L’Envie d’aimer.” Following the success of the musical, Lévi decided to resume composing.

Ici et Maintenant, his third album, was released in October 2002. His fourth album, Le Coeur ouvert, was released in January 2005 and co-produced by Pascal Obispo.

He is best known as an actor and director for the 2000 musical The Ten Commandments, as well as the 2004 film Warp Vision: The Videos. Hey Good Looking! (1989-2004) and Hey Good Looking! (2006)
