Daniel Barenboim is an Argentine-born classical pianist and conductor based in Berlin.

He and his wife Elena Bashkirova have two sons, David Arthur Barenboim and Michael Barenboim.
Their son Michael Barenboim is a classical violinist and David is a manager-writer for the German hip-hop band Level 8. David has also released music under the name KD-Supier.
Michael began piano lessons when he was four years old, but switched to violin once the Barenboims relocated to Berlin in 1992. He joined the WEDO as a young teenager in its second year and has basically grown up with the orchestra.

Since his breakthrough as a soloist with Schönberg’s Violin Concerto under the baton of Pierre Boulez in 2011, and Michael Barenboim has performed with outstanding colleagues in his field.
He has also appeared as a soloist with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Filarmonica della Scala, the Philharmonia Orchestra London, the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the Orchestre de Paris, and the Spanish National Orchestra.
