Dan Lanning is a former football player and the current head coach at the University of Oregon.

Born on April 10, 1986, in North Kansas city, Missouri, Lanning has previously served as defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach at the University of Georgia.

Lanning spent three years playing college football for William Jewell as a Linebacker.

His coaching career began in 2008 with Park Hill South HS, and later went ahead to coach Pittsburgh, Arizona State, Sam Houston State, Alabama, Memphis, Georgia, and now, Oregon.

Lanning is so versatile that he can serve as a defensive backs coach, linebackers coach and wide receivers coach.

Lanning led his team to win the CFP National Championshop twice, in 2015 and 2021.
