Dan Geary Cause Of Death

Dan Geary, known as “Captain Dan”  passed away on Thursday, March 03, 2022, at the age of 72. Geary had been a radio personality for more than 50 years, most recently hosting the LECOM Radio WMCE 88.5 FM morning show.

He was a key figure in Mercyhurst University’s oldies station before it was sold to LECOM, and he previously managed Mercyhurst North East’s former radio station, WYNE 1530 AM.

For 35 years, he woke up Erie on morning radio, most notably as Captain Dan of the original Breakfast Club on Classy 100. That’s where he picked up the handle “Captain Dan.”

The cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Dan is survived by his wife, Mary Kay, and his four children.
