Dalton Pompey Parents: Meet Ken Pompey, Valerie Pompey

Dalton Pompey is a former professional Canadian baseball player who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays. He is the son of Ken Pompey and Valerie Pompey.

His parents, taught him to switch-hit when he was three years old. Ken Pompey, Pompey’s father, was also known to TV fans as the dancing cowboy on the iconic Canadian television show Electric Circus.

Ken Ponpey’s stint on the program was later commemorated by Great Lakes Brewery (Toronto) with a custom beverage called Electric Circus Tropical Pale Ale.

Dalton Pompey was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 16th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft. He spent five seasons in the minor leagues before making his MLB debut in September 2014, participating in 17 games before the season ended.

Pompey was named to Canada’s national baseball team for the 2017 World Baseball Classic, the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier, and the 2019 World Baseball Classic Premier12. Dalton Pompey announced his retirement following the 2022 season.
