Known for her running prowess, Dafne Schippers was born in Utrecht, Netherlands, on June 15, 1992. Dafne is also well recognized for her career as a sprinter and as a competitor in the track and field heptathlon. She set the European record for the 200-meter race in 2015, winning the gold medal in 21.63 seconds at the World Championships that year.

At the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics and the 2011 European Athletics Junior Championships, Schippers initially competed in the heptathlon and took home gold. Along with her teammates Loreanne Kuhurima, Eva Lubbers, and Jamile Samuel in the 2010 World Junior Championships, she also took home a medal in the 4 x 100-meter relay. In the heptathlon and the 4100 meter events, she participated in the London 2012 Olympics.
