Barry Mann is an American songwriter and musician who was married to Cynthia Weil a legendary songwriter who wrote many songs.

The couple got married in August 1961. They had a daughter, Jenn. They lived in Beverly Hills, California.
Cynthia and her husband wrote songs for many contemporary artists, winning several Grammy Awards and being nominated for Academy Awards for their film compositions.
She and her husband, Mann, were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987. Mann and Weil’s They Wrote That?, a musical revue based on their songs, premiered in New York in 2004.
The couple received the Ahmet Ertegun Award from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010, making her the first woman to do so. They received the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s highest honour, the Johnny Mercer Award, in 2011.

Cynthia Weil passed away at the age of 82 on June 1, 2023, according to her daughter. Cynthia’s daughter called her mum her “best friend” and “partner in crime” in an emotional statement announcing her death.
Her daughter Dr Mann said: “My mother, Cynthia Weil, was the greatest mother, grandmother and wife our family could ever ask for. “She was my best friend, confidant, and my partner in crime and an idol and trailblazer for women in music.”
