As the only son, Craig shared his childhood with his sister, April Calihoo, in the heartwarming hamlet of Calahoo. His parents, Ramona and Roger, continue to reside in their hometown, where Craig’s memories of growing up are deeply ingrained.

Despite Craig’s professional journey leading him to new horizons, his familial connections remain strong. Each summer, Craig makes it a point to return home, where his parents, Roger and Ramona, host a cherished family BBQ. This tradition symbolizes the enduring bond and connection to his roots.

The Berube family’s ties to hockey extend beyond Craig’s illustrious career. Even in his late 70s, Roger, Craig’s father, actively participated in a weekly hockey league at the Calahoo Arena. The local seniors would gather, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie through their shared love for the sport.

In the fall of 2018, Roger decided to hang up his skates, marking the end of his playing days. However, the Berube family’s connection to the hockey world persisted through another avenue—Calahoo Meats Ltd. This establishment, owned and operated by Craig’s parents, stands as a testament to their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to the local community.

The sense of pride and celebration reached new heights when Craig Berube led his team to a Stanley Cup victory in 2019. The town of Calahoo, along with Craig’s family, joined in the jubilation, commemorating the success of a hometown hero. Through his journey, Craig Berube continues to honor his familial roots and the unwavering support of his parents, Roger and Ramona Berube.
