Cory Allan Michael Monteith was a Canadian actor and musician who was born on May 11, 1982, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Ann McGregor, an interior decorator, and Joe Monteith. Joe Monteith was a soldier who served in the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry.

Monteith was best known for his role as Finn Hudson on the Fox television series Glee. Glee is an American musical comedy-drama television series that aired on the Fox network in the United States from May 19, 2009, to March 20, 2015.

Monteith was suspected to be in a relationship with Lea Michele around 2008. It was in 2012 that the media reported that the two were dating. The two dated until his death. Monteith was found dead on July 13, 2013 at the age of 31.

Per the final report released by the British Columbia Coroners Service, codeine and morphine were found in his system at the time of his death. He was also found with drug paraphernalia that included a spoon with drug residue and a used hypodermic needle, as well as two empty bottles of champagne. It is suspected that he died from “a mixed drug toxicity” consisting of heroin and alcohol
