Correctional Service Guarantees Bobrisky’s Safety in Male Prison

Authorities from the Nigerian Correctional Service have guaranteed the well-being of Mr. Idris Okuneye, commonly recognized as Bobrisky, within the male division of the prison facility during his six-month incarceration.

The decision followed Justice Abimbola Awogboro’s sentencing of Bobrisky to jail in the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court for pleading guilty to four counts of currency abuse.

During the court proceedings, Bobrisky clarified his gender identity, confirming that he identifies as male.

Prison authorities, however, ensured that sufficient measures would be implemented to shield Bobrisky from possible sexual assaults by other inmates.

“He shouldn’t be afraid of sexual assault from other male inmates because our men can give him protection,” they assured.
