Constant Tiafoe: Who is Frances Tiafoe’s father?

Constant, known as Frances Sr., Tiafoe is the father of tennis player Frances Tiafoe. Constant emigrated from Sierra Leone to the United States in 1993 to escape the civil war in his home country.

Constant worked as a day labourer on a construction crew that built the JTCC in College Park, Maryland. After the facility’s completion, he was hired as the on-site custodian and given a spare office to live in at the Centre.

For the next 11 years, Frances and his brother Franklin lived at the centre with their father five days a week. They took advantage of their living situation and began playing tennis regularly at the age of four.

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) placed Frances Tiafoe Jr. at No. 25 in men’s singles on May 2, 2022, and No. 160 in doubles on November 1, 2021.

Tiafoe won his first ATP title at the 2018 Delray Beach Open, making him the youngest American man to do so since Andy Roddick in 2002.

Tiafoe won the Orange Bowl at the age of 15, becoming the tournament’s youngest boys’ singles champion. At the age of 17, he became the youngest American to compete in the French Open main draw since Michael Chang in 1989.
