Former American pro footballer Conrad Dobler passed away from an unknown cause on February 13, 2023. He was aged 72.

Who Was Conrad Dobler?

Conrad Dobler was a football guard who played for the Sr. Louis Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL).

Born on October 1, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, U.S, Dobler played college football at the University of Wyoming, before the Cardinals drafted him in the fifth round of the 1972 NFL Draft.

He spent no less than 10 years of his career in the NFL.

Dobler made three consecutive Pro Bowl appearances from 1975 to 1977.

In 1978, he was traded by the Cardinals to the New Orleans Saints, and later had a stinct with the Buffalo Bills.

He retired from the game in 1981.

Dobler was regarded as “the dirtiest player in Pro football”, after he spat on Bill Bergey and kicked Merlin Olsen in the head.

Dobler’s career was laced with serious injuries which sometimes required surgery.
