Connor’s parents met in Etobicoke, Ontario, at Michael Power Catholic High School. His mother, Anne Kennedy, was a track and field athlete, and his father, Dan Brown, played hockey.
Both branches of the family can trace their origins back to the same village in Ireland, and they both landed in Toronto in the nineteenth century. Connor and his brother Jeff frequently played on the rink in the park behind their grandparents’ house when they were young.
Dan, their father, coached them throughout their youth hockey careers. Throughout the GTA, you might find him behind the bench and their mother Anne in the stands, next to four proud grandparents.

Connor Brown has always had a great bond with his father. From the time he and his brother Jeff first started skating on their home rink, the three had a mutual love for the game.
Connor would frequently sit at the kitchen table with his father, sketching out practise drills. Connor attended practises with his father’s minor midget Marlboros team.
Brown was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round, 156th overall, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He currently plays for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL).
