The Commonwealth Games 2022 is currently underway in England, with over 6,000 athletes from 72 nations competing in 280 events.

This is England’s third hosting of the prestigious event, following London in 1934 and Manchester in 2002, and it will be the seventh Games to be held in the United Kingdom.

The 2022 games will be held at 15 different venues, including the 30,000-person Alexander Stadium.

The only venue outside of Birmingham will be Lee Valley VeloPark, which was built to host cycling events at the 2012 London Olympics.

Athletes from across the UK, including swimming star Adam Peaty, iconic cyclist Laura Trott, and World Champion 1500m runner Jake Wightman, will be hoping to make an impression at the Games’ latest edition.

The entire Commonwealth Games will be broadcast live on BBC One, Two, Three, and Four, with additional coverage on the red button. The action will also be streamed live and on-demand on BBC iPlayer.
