Choosing to further his baseball education, Tucker committed to play college baseball at the University of Arizona. However, his journey took an unexpected turn when the Pittsburgh Pirates selected him in the first round of the 2014 MLB draft with the 24th overall pick.

In 2022, Tucker’s versatility on the field was on full display as he appeared in 18 games for the Pirates, seamlessly transitioning between second base, shortstop, and right field.
On June 5, 2022, Tucker experienced a change of scenery when the Arizona Diamondbacks claimed him off waivers, subsequently assigning him to the Reno Aces of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League.
The turning point came on December 7, 2022, when Tucker signed a minor league deal with the Colorado Rockies. Embarking on the 2023 season with the Triple–A Albuquerque Isotopes, Tucker showcased his batting prowess, hitting an impressive .311/.420/.460 with 5 home runs and 34 RBI in 58 games.
Despite his commendable performance, Tucker elected free agency on October 4, opening the door to new possibilities in his baseball journey.
