The 27-year-old actor’s body was discovered by deputies on Friday, April 5, 2024, in a wooded area near an unoccupied vehicle southwest of Kansas City, Kansas, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities have not disclosed the cause of death, stating that the incident is still under investigation. Johnson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson McKenzi Davis stated, “Our office is still investigating this incident and I will update if I learn more.”

Cole Brings Plenty was reported missing earlier in the week after allegedly being involved in a domestic violence incident on Sunday, March 31, in Lawrence, Kansas. Lawrence police reported that he was last seen driving south from the city’s center in his Ford Explorer SUV.

Concerns grew among friends and family, including his uncle, Moses Brings Plenty, who also appeared in “1923” and “Yellowstone.” Moses shared missing person fliers on social media, expressing disbelief in the allegations against his nephew.

While Lawrence police stated they were following leads and in contact with the family, an affidavit supporting an arrest warrant for Cole Brings Plenty was filed but not released publicly. Traffic cameras captured his vehicle leaving town following the reported incident.

Joe Brings Plenty, Cole’s father, confirmed his son’s passing and expressed gratitude for the community’s support during the search. “We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search areas,” he said.

The family is now focused on coping with their loss and planning for the future.
