Colbert Team Arrested

U.S. Capitol Police arrested members of a production team for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in a congressional office building Thursday night and charged them with unauthorised entry.

“The US Capitol Police (USCP) received a complaint about a disturbance in the Longworth House Office Building on June 16, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Seven people were seen in a sixth-floor hallway, alone and without Congressional ID, by responding police “Friday night, Capitol Police issued a statement.

They were arrested near Rep Lauren Boebert’s office, according to Fox News, and had also taken images and video near House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s office. Capitol Police did not identify the people involved in the incident but said they were charged with unlawful entry.

The case is still “an active criminal investigation,” according to the USCP, and “may result in additional criminal charges after consultation with the US Attorney.”
