On May 19, 2016, in the five-round main event of TPF27, Gibson went on to defeat Rolando Velasco by unanimous decision to claim the Tachi Palace Fights Bantamweight title: Mayhem.
Gibson will defend his TPF title against Kyle Reyes at Tachi Palace Fights 29 on November 3rd, it was confirmed in September 2016. In the second round, Gibson was knocked out to win the match.

To compete against Adrian Diaz for the TPF Featherweight Championship on May 18, 2017, Gibson will upgrade his weight class.
