Despite their commercial success, Punk and WWE have long been at odds. CM Punk revealed that his decision to quit WWE was based on his mental and physical health. He confessed that he had been competing for months with fractured ribs, knee problems, and concussions and that WWE forced him to compete anyway.

His main complaint was against Dr Chris Amann, one of WWE’s doctors. Punk said that Dr Amann misdiagnosed an infection, which he only discovered after quitting WWE and contacting another doctor. He claimed that if he hadn’t sought medical help, the infection may have killed him.
Not only that but Punk was constantly dissatisfied in the studio. He was dissatisfied with his income in comparison to other huge stars, as well as the fact that he had never competed in WrestleMania’s main event.
