Cliff Gustafson Wife: Who Was Janie Gustafson?

Janie Gustafson was the wife of Cliff Gustafson, an American high school and college baseball coach who served as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns, representing the University of Texas at Austin for twenty-nine seasons.

Janie died in December 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was 76 years.

Janie and Cliff met in San Antonio, where Janie was an elementary school teacher and Cliff was a high school baseball coach.

They tied the knot on Sept. 19, 1959 and had two children, daughters Jann And Jill.

Cliff Gustafson didn’t remarry following the death of his wife.

He led the Longhorns to two national championships and nearly two dozen conference titles in 29 seasons.

His .792 career winning percentage ranks second among major college coaches. His win total was ranked first when he retired and now ranks 10th.

Cliff was born on February 12, 1931, Kenedy, Texas, United States and died January 2, 2023, in Austin, Texas, United States at age 91.
