CJ Abrams Parents: Meet Chris Abrams and Ruth Abrams

CJ Abrams is a Major League Baseball shortstop who currently plays for the Washington Nationals (MLB).

CJ Abrams was born on October 3, 2000, in Alpharetta, Georgia to Chris and Ruth Abrams. Chris Abrams is a FedEx employee.

CJ’s father was a successful basketball player, earning a scholarship to Panhandle State University, an NAIA school where he played for two years.

Since he was a child, his parents have been involved in his baseball career. His mother Ruth used to toss him rolled-up socks when he played a makeshift game of baseball with her in their kitchen when he was young.

Chris supported his son’s journey for 17 years, devising and building every contraption he could think of.

Abrams was regarded as one of the top prospects for the 2019 MLB draught. The San Diego Padres selected him with the sixth overall pick.

On June 8, 2019, he signed for $5.2 million with the Padres and was assigned to the Arizona League Padres, where he hit safely in his first twenty games. Abrams was traded to the Washington Nationals on August 2, 2022.
