Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. is the suspect in the UVA shooting incident which left three people dead and two others seriously injured.

The shooting incident occured on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022 on a bus filled with students returning from a field trip.
Two of the victims died inside the bus, while the third victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Police responded to a report of shots fired around 10:30 p.m. in an area near a parking garage on Culbreth Road and surrounded by academic buildings.

Much is not known about Jones Jr’s personal life.

There has been no reportage of his wife in the media so it is assumed he is not yet married.

Jones is surprisingly enrolled at UVA, where he was a member of the football team in 2018.
The 1.75m tall suspect hails from Petersburg, where he played linebacker and running back at Petersburg High School for his senior year.
Jones Jr. also has ties to Henrico County, where he spent his first three years of high school at Varina.
In high school, Jones Jr. was very successful academically, winning ‘Student of the Year’ twice at Varina.
A distinguished academic, Jones Jr. was also a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, President of Key Club and President of Jobs for Virginia Grads Program.
