Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. is the prime suspect in the UVA shooting incident which left three people dead and two others seriously injured.

The shooting incident occured on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022 on a bus filled with students returning from a field trip.
Police responded to a report of shots fired around 10:30 p.m. in an area near a parking garage on Culbreth Road and surrounded by academic buildings.
Two of the victims died inside the bus, while the third victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Jones Jr. was arrested around 11 a.m. ET about 80 miles east of Charlottesville in Henrico County, the county police agency said in a statement.

Surprisingly, he is a student at UVA, where he was a member of the football team in 2018.
The 1.75m tall suspect hails from Petersburg, where he played linebacker and running back at Petersburg High School for his senior year.
He also has ties to Henrico County, where he spent his first three years of high school at Varina.
Jones was on the run for more than 12 hours before police finally took him into custody.
