Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. is the prime suspect in the UVA shooting incident which occured on Sunday evening, Nov. 13, 2022, which left three people dead and two others seriously injured.

Police responded to a report of shots fired around 10:30 p.m. in an area near a parking garage on Culbreth Road and surrounded by academic buildings.
Two of the victims died inside the bus, while the third victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.
According to Henrico County Police, Jones Jr. was taken into custody without incident around 11 a.m. in the 5700 block of Edgelawn Street, on the border of Henrico and Richmond.
Jones is surprisingly enrolled at UVA, where he was a member of the football team in 2018.

The 1.75m tall suspect hails from Petersburg, where he played linebacker and running back at Petersburg High School for his senior year.
Jones Jr. also has ties to Henrico County, where he spent his first three years of high school at Varina.
In high school, Jones Jr. was very successful academically, winning ‘Student of the Year’ twice at Varina.
A distinguished academic, Jones Jr. was also a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, President of Key Club and President of Jobs for Virginia Grads Program.

There has been no reportage of Jones Jr.’s children so it is believed that he is yet to have children.
