Bodybuilder from Brazil who was on the rise was Christian Figueiredo. The bodybuilder, 29, had obtained his pro card months before (“professional card”; an award that grants bodybuilders the ability to compete in the professional league, the IFBB).

The athlete known only as “Chris” competed in the Open division (where there is no weight restriction and where the most muscular athletes are) and would make his Professional League debut in 2024.

No official statement has been made regarding Christian’s cause of death. However, in an Instagram post, his buddies Ricardo Alexandre (a.k.a. “Rudeboy”) and Fernando “Superman” claimed that they had learned in the afternoon that the athlete had suffered a stroke and hemorrhage as a result of complications with a surgery.

Sadly, Chris passed away as a result of complications from liver surgery. His acquaintances claim that after a “simple” operation, “complications” made his condition worse and ultimately led to a heart attack at the Hospital das Clnicas in So Paulo.
