Gascoyne has extensive theatre experience, beginning with his first professional job at the Nottingham Playhouse when he was 18 years old. He had two appearances at The Royal Court Theatre, the first as Patsy in David Storey’s The Changing Room as part of the Royal Court Classic Season.

Gascoyne most recently appeared at the West Yorkshire Playhouse/ Birmingham Repertory Theatre as Ray Say in Jim Cartwright’s classic, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. He subsequently went on to play Clov in a co-production between the Glasgow Citizen’s Theatre and HOME Manchester of Samuel Beckett’s Endgame, directed by Domonic Hill, with fellow Coronation Street actor David Nielson.
